Evaluating individual scientific output normalized to publication age and academic field through the Scientometrics.org project

When evaluating the publication performance of a scientist one has to consider not only difference in norms different scientific fields, but also length academic career investigated researcher. Here, our goal was establish database suitable as reference for ranking by normalizing researchers output those with same and active field. By using complete citation data 17,072 Hungarian researchers, we established framework enabling quick assessment researcher’s comparing four parameters (h-index, yearly independent citations received, number publications, high impact publications), age-matched values all other discipline. The online tool available at www.scientometrics.org could be an invaluable help faster more evidence-based grant review processes.
